  • Who’s your reader?: Young adults between 17-30 years old. So remember to break down complicated terms and processes so it’s easy for anyone to understand.
  • Keep it Short & Sweet: Your text should no be longer than 1200 words, the range is 800-1200 words.
  • What sets us apart? Our focus is to simplify human rights education to empower the youth to advocate for their communities.
  • Language: The text must be submitted in English.

Blog Structure

  • It can be a personal story, opinion piece, article. Use the format that is most comfortable for you.
  • Be clear about the main topic. Let readers know what human rights issue you’re talking about.
  • Give the reader a tool, explain how to advocate for human rights. Whether it’s through a lawsuit or a petition, help readers understand how they can make a difference.
  • Make sure your writing is easy to understand.
  • Keep it simple and short. Shorter articles have a bigger impact.
  • Get straight to the point. Avoid long introductions.
  • Use links instead of long lists of references. If you can’t, use footnotes, and we’ll handle the links. (have at least 2 URL to external websites)
  • Think of a catchy title and main image to get people interested.
  • Use statistics, graphs or tables if they help explain things, but make sure they’re easy to understand.
  • End with a call to action. Tell readers what they can do next to support the cause —like visiting your social media or signing a petition.
